I am not going to deny that the first couple of times are painful. When you have to do it every two weeks, after a while it’s like your nerves and everything get accustomed to it. You have to go every two weeks; if you don’t, it’s not like something horrible will happen to you, but it’s going to be like starting all over again. I don’t recommend threading for anybody under the age of 18. I just don’t. Some girls in high school like to get it done, but just make sure that you are not too sensitive on your face. I will never do this for a child and so I think at 18 years you are pretty much an adult physically.
When I go it doesn’t hurt that much any more. The other thing is that sometimes there are small side effects. It’s not a side effect; it’s just an inconvenience. Sometimes for people who are sensitive there may be allergy symptoms. Sometimes the hair does go all over the place, irritating the skin. Sometimes I sneeze. I have to stop for a little sneeze break and then continue. I don’t know if it’s because the hairs are actually getting into my nose or that something is triggered in my sinuses. Sometimes people may sneeze, but for most people it’s really not too bad; it’s just a matter of getting used it. And for some people it’s easier to start with just the upper part of the eyebrow and then work their way down to the lower part, because the lower part is more sensitive.
